The model of ipad which I have is the 16gb wifi model in white. The dimensions of which are:
Height: 241.2 mm (9.50 inches)
Width: 185.7 mm (7.31 inches)
Depth: 9.4 mm (0.37 inches)
Weight (Wi-Fi): 652 g (1.44 pounds)
For me the size of it is both big enough to see things clearly, and to be able to complete work on comfortably whilst also being light enough to take pretty much anywhere. Infact I'm addicted, I take it to university to make notes on and to download lectures, to my friends houses to show them photos, out and about with me incase I get any inspiration and want to write or update my blog.
I've barely put it down since owning it, and pretty much do anything and everything on it, I use it to blog, to write, to watch TV on, for social networking, to email my C.V's out or essays to university, to work on presentations, to download and read books, to subscribe to and read magazines, to face time, to message.... The list goes on and on. It really is awesome!
Another point is that the camera and video quality is also excellent, so it's great if you like using sites such as flickr, instagram, facebook and youtube.
For those who are interested the technical details are:

* 1.2MP photos
* 720p HD video

In terms of the models of the ipad you can choose either the wifi plus cellular or just wifi model, however there is a significant difference in price:
Wi-Fi
16GB- ?399
32GB -?479
64GB -?559
128GB -?639
Wi-Fi + Cellular
16GB- ?499
32GB- ?579
64GB- ?659
128GB- ?739
Whilst the wifi plus cellular offers more coverage as you are dependant on the mobile network, as opposed to being restricted to places what offer wifi only, I personally went for just the wifi model. Being significantly cheaper (?399 for wifi and ?499 for wifi plus cellular), was the predominant reason if I'm honest, but also Wifi is so accessible nowadays that I didn't feel It would be worth me paying the extra money. The majority of the places where I use it have access to a free internet connection; my parents, friends, caf?', university, work etc, so for me wifi only has not really restricted my use of it too much. If I'm going to an area where there will be no internet access, I just tend to download books/magazines/tv shows first before I get there and use my phone for any emergency internet needs. Plus there is also the option of tethering- where my internet to my ipad can be tethered through my phone contract, if I really wanted to. Personally unless you need access to the internet 24/7 I would save your money and go wifi only.
The other thing I want to touch upon is the battery life, which is significantly longer than my laptop is, and most laptops I would imagine- up to 10 hours of internet use, or watching videos/listening to music, which is great for long journeys or commuting. I find it s great when on a train or plane to catch up on things, or simply read a book and kill time.
So overall I think its brilliant!! Yes its expensive, but for me worth the investment.
