Susan Boyle covers Depeche Mode song

Susan Boyle might have just earned her street cred, at least within some music circles. The singer, made famous by "Britain's Got Talent" and known mostly for her ability to belt out a ballad, has tackled an unlikely band: Depeche Mode.

In "Enjoy the Silence," Boyle delivers a vocally impressive and hauntingly personal rendition of the song (you can listen to Rolling Stone's exclusive preview here).

"The melody of the song is just beautiful," Boyle told Rolling Stone. "But really that lyric ('Words are very unnecessary/ They can only do harm') sounds like it will touch so many people in the way it touched me."?

The song can be found on Boyle's third album, "Someone to Watch Over Me," which drops Nov. 1. Check out the original version by Depeche Mode here:
